Raid on Bleonilba -- June 27th

On the southeastern coast, south and east of Cruce, the enemy maintains a number of positions on the main highway between Cruce and Bangaba.  One checkpoint is at a small hamlet, Bleonilba, directly on the coast.  Drone overflights show a single rifle squad and two technicals are at the position, as well ammuniton and fuel vehicles.  That checkpoint is a weak spot in their deployment.  Hitting the enemy there would be a rude introduction for the enemy.

The naval task force consisting of two corvettes will arrive at around 2130 hrs to provide preparatory naval artillery fire on any targets and will remain there for 30 minutes.  When the task force exits the area, your forces will commence landing operations.

Your spetsnaz team will land less than 200 meters from the hamlet, while your naval infantry squad will land 500 to 900 meters north as a blocking force against any possible enemy reinforcements from the north.

Your team will then proceed into the village, wiping out all opposition, destroying any enemy supplies at the location, and searching dead bodies for documents.

Once your tasks are complete, your team will reload onto your ships and exit the area.

Possible enemy counteraction could include African rebel forces, Molation light infantry, or Takistani regulars and irregular forces, most of those coming from the west and northwest in any combination.  Vehicles your forces could be expecting could include technicals and BTRs.

The only additional asset at your disposal is a Pchela drone.  The entire operation could take a long as three hours, so it is likely the drone will be forced to return to base before the operation is concluded.

Rendezvous with naval fire support commences:

You can't see it, but the corvettes begin firing as soon as they turn towards the coast:

The corvettes stopped firing soon after, and drone overflights show some damage done to a technical, as well as the location of the second technical on the west end of the hamlet:

Technical, probably in defilade, is on the hamlet's west side.

The technical on the east end is left smoking by the corvettes
30 minutes are up, and the two forces commence landing operations, as the corvettes prepare to leave:

Resistance!  An enemy rifleman fires on the ship as it approaches its landing zone.  A second rifleman  was dispatched by the boat's machine gunner earlier, but I didn't catch that exchange.

Bad guy eliminated.  Commencing landing:

On land, giving orders to the marine squad to move north to its blocking position:

Preparing the assault into town:

A target in the window!

Target eliminated.  Time to advance!

Attack is developing.  No one has stuck their heads out yet:

The two story mud hut directly in front is where the enemy is camped.  The squad is now dangerously close:

NVG on.  The squad automatic rifleman begins to fire into the building:

The squad second in command is eliminated, presumably by enemy exiting the building.  The commander spots an enemy rifleman inside the building and starts firing:

Enemy presumed dead, continuing the advance:

Laser on, moving around the corner to target enemies:

Three enemy rifleman attempted to get the hell out of dodgem but the commander catches them.  Two go down, but, oops, must change mags:

Third rifleman eliminated!

Continuing the advance, searching for enemies:

Commencing search of the buildings:

Nothing but enemy dead.  No commander:

Search of the first building complete.  Now for the second building:

No one's home, and commander still has the problem of the second technical on the other end of town.  Moving and staying to the north side of the road, checking around corners as he goes, the commander approaches the western side of town:

Commander eliminates the technical's crew.

The commander is gunned down by a sentry, as was his second in command.  The third in command takes over, so then orders the team to exfiltrate by boat.  Searches by the commander and the third in command failed to turn up the enemy commander, so no documents could be found.

Most the of enemy at the checkpoint were eliminated, but at a cost of three  effectives, including the commander.  Not a good start to the campaign.
