Nicosia is now a new front in the Chernarusian narco war. Operations against Chernarusian narceauxs will include assistance from US forces as well. But first on the military agenda for Nicosia is to land a force there, and the location selected for the first Chernarus insertion is near the town of Niarchos.
This is a spare operation for the Chernarus military. The attacking force consists of one BTR rifle platoon and a supporting anti armor group. The objective is Niarchos, but the real objective are the three fuel trucks that are north of the town. CDF force commander has ordered the operation to capture those fuel supplies until its logistics can catch up to the forces there.
Guarding Niarchos are two rifle squads and an armor platoon with three BRDM scout cars.
The landing begins as an amphibious assault.
Preparing to take the town. Forces are lined up and ready to go.
On the southeastern approach to the town. No enemy sighted yet
Contact! Enemy forces lay down intensive fire, but the BTR driver moves his vehicle in front of me. Can't see anything but the ass end of the vehicle. Enemy forces respond by destroying the BTR and killing the crew. I also lose my machine gunner and another rifleman.
Oh, no. A burning truck! Must be one of the fuel trucks! One of the objectives is to capture the fuel trucks intact.
The anticipated enemy counter attack from the north has begun. My command is shot up.
BTRs light up an enemy truck, as enemy rifles dismount and prepare their counterattack.
BTRs continue firing on the enemy. Meanwhile it turns out the fuel trucks were intact.
Enemy infantry continues to try to advance but it is too late. Niarchos belongs to the CDF.
My command mostly got shot up. The antiarmor group lost one man, while the others lost none. But the command group killed the most enemy. In further iterations of the scenario, I will provide the command with night vision goggles.
But for now, the CDF has to prepare to last the night against whatever the enemy throws at them. No reinforcements until first light. Gonna be a long night.
