AUTHOR: Captain B. Badanov, Chernarus Naval Forces
COMMAND: Commander, Armored Task Force "KORSAR"
DATE: 01 JUNE 2025
REPORT DATE: 01 JUNE 2025
REFERENCE: OPORD 25-06-01 "COASTAL SHIELD"
UNIT: CNF Armored Task Force "KORSAR" (Elements: 3rd Coastal Armored Company, Naval Infantry Squad "VIGIL")
LOCATION: Forward Operating Base PERIMETER, Chernarus
SITUATION:,
a. Enemy Forces: Significant PLA/PLAN presence confirmed operating with impunity along Coastal Highway 17 between HOBART and PERTH. Enemy utilizing light technical vehicles and demonstrating naval gunfire support capability from offshore assets.
b. Friendly Forces: Task Force KORSAR assigned to conduct reconnaissance-in-force and disrupt enemy movement along designated axis. USAF elements operating in AO provided potential close air support (CAS).
MISSION:,
Task Force KORSAR conducted a combat reconnaissance and interdiction patrol along Coastal Highway 17 between HOBART and PERTH on 01 JUNE 2025 to locate, engage, and disrupt enemy forces, and assess PLAN coastal activity.
EXECUTION:,
a. Concept of Operations: Task Force advanced west from HOBART along Highway 17 utilizing bounding overwatch tactics. Primary focus: locate enemy ground elements and observe coastal waters for PLAN activity.
b. Key Actions:
Engagement near WAYPOINT ALPHA (a crossroads) : At 1130H, forward scouts identified two (2) PLA technicals (Type: armed pickup trucks) moving eastbound. Task Force main body deployed. Enemy engaged with effective tank gunfire (Main Guns, T-72B3). Both technicals destroyed. Result: 2 x PLA technicals KIA. No friendly casualties. Battle damage repaired. BDA confirmed.
Enemy Naval Engagement vic. WAYPOINT BRAVO : At 1220H, while observing coastal waters approximately 2km south of Highway 17, the Task Force came under intense and accurate artillery fire assessed as 100mm+ naval gunfire originating from a PLAN Jiangkai-II class frigate (Designation: HOSTILE-1) positioned approx. 8km offshore. Fire forced immediate tactical withdrawal north of the highway to defilade positions. Result: Task Force displaced under fire. No direct hits sustained; minor shrapnel damage to one T-72 track skirt (Repairable).
Counter-Naval Action: While maneuvering, T-72B3 (Call Sign: KORSAR-6) acquired HOSTILE-1. Upon coordinating with USAF liaison (Call Sign: HAWK 21), which established an orbit but did not immediately engage, KORSAR-6 fired one (1) high-explosive anti-tank (HEAT) round at extreme effective range targeting the vessel's superstructure. Round observed impacting amidships. Simultaneously, USAF aircraft (Type: F-35, Designation: HAWK 21) conducted a low-pass, drawing vessel's attention, and subsequently engaged with precision-guided munitions (Type: JDAM). HOSTILE-1 sustained significant damage (smoke, fires observed), ceased bombardment, and began withdrawing east-southeast. Result: PLAN frigate HOSTILE-1 mission-killed/damaged. Friendly action contributed to neutralizing the naval threat.
Consolidation and Movement: Task Force consolidated at an unnamed coastal village at 1305H to conduct battle damage assessment (BDA), perform minor repairs, and rearm. Departed village at 1345H continuing mission towards PERTH.
Defensive Action at PERTH Outskirts : At 1415H, while entering the eastern outskirts of PERTH, Task Force elements encountered entrenched PLA infantry (Squad strength). KORSAR dismounted Naval Infantry Platoon "VIGIL" supported by coaxial machine gun fire from KORSAR-3 and KORSAR-7 suppressed and eliminated the enemy position after a brief firefight. Result: Estimated 6-8 PLA infantry KIA. Friendly forces: No casualties. PERTH entry secured.
ADMINISTRATION AND LOGISTICS:,
Ammunition expenditure: Moderate (Tank Main Gun: 3 rds HEAT, 2 rds HE-FRAG; MG: 1200 rds 7.62mm). Fuel: 80% remaining after operation.
Repairs: Minor track skirt damage (KORSAR-7) repaired in the field. All vehicles operational.
Casualties: BTR destroyed by infantry antitank. (2 KIA)
COMMAND AND SIGNAL:,
Command exercised effectively via CNF secure VHF net. Coordination with USAF (HAWK 21) successful via pre-arranged CAS frequency. No comms failures.
SUMMARY:,
Task Force KORSAR successfully executed its combat reconnaissance and interdiction mission along the HOBART-PERTH axis on 01 JUNE 2025. Key achievements:
Destruction of two (2) PLA mobile technical assets.
Effective displacement and counter-fire action against a PLAN naval bombardment, resulting in significant damage to the hostile vessel with coordinated T-72 fire and USAF air support.
Successful repulsion of PLA infantry resistance on the outskirts of PERTH.
Mission completed with light casualties and all vehicles destroyed.
RECOMMENDATIONS:,
Increased ISR coverage of coastal waters west of PERTH to monitor PLAN repair/reinforcement efforts.
Prioritize allocation of anti-ship missiles (ASM) or heavier coastal artillery assets to Task Force or supporting units for future counter-naval operations.
Sustain pressure along Highway 17; enemy forces in PERTH appear present but disorganized after initial engagement.
