2nd Army Corps Pre-Deployment Report

2nd Army Corps Pre-Deployment Report

Deployment Overview

The 2nd Tank Battalion and 3rd Tank Battalion of the Chernarus 3rd Tank Brigade are preparing for deployment to the standard forward zone deployment in northwestern Chernarus. This deployment will serve as a temporary marshaling point for combat operations in the region. The 3rd Battalion of the Chernarus 20th Separate Mechanized Cavalry Regiment has been moved to a reserve role for emergency use.

Intelligence Summary

Chernarus 2nd Army Corps intelligence indicates that enemy forces are planning to deploy between two and four mixed brigades to the region. These forces are expected to include heavy tracked and light wheeled armor, Russian militia, Russian naval infantry special forces, and Spanish-speaking regulars. Enemy operatives have been training armed civilians for use as combat auxiliaries and engaging in electronic media warfare, criminal activities, and violence to intimidate the local populace.

Terrain Assessment

The region is characterized by large expanses of flat terrain, which will pose significant challenges for friendly forces. Infantry casualties are expected to be high due to the long standoff distances that will be encountered. Additionally, winter weather has already arrived in the region, and up to half of combat operations could be conducted in blizzard conditions.

Force Considerations

The available forces are insufficient to cover the entire frontage of the region, so mobility will be crucial in preventing enemy advances. Friendly forces will need to be agile and adaptable to effectively counter enemy threats in this challenging environment.

Recommendations

Emphasize mobility training and tactics to maximize maneuverability in the open terrain.

Develop contingency plans for operations in blizzard conditions.

Employ reconnaissance and surveillance assets to identify and track enemy movements.

Utilize close air support and indirect fire to suppress enemy positions.

Coordinate closely with Chernarus Coastal Operations Group to ensure a unified response to enemy threats.

Briefing: Spy Craft in Altis

Spycraft in Altis:
Strategic Situation: A Chernarus naval spetsnaz team was sent to a location near Liminchori to locate and extract a small group of Russians who want to defect to the Americans.
The team was caught by rebel patrols and were forced to hole the defectors up in an abandoned building and call for help.
Command sent in two naval infantry squads to take over security, but they were ambushed. We lost one assault boat, and eight infantry.
The other boat was damaged beyond field repair. At the moment we have 12 marines unable to fight and without weapons, and we have to get them out.
Situation: Nearly every boat in our inventory is either under repair or currently in use in other operations, along with replacement naval infantry units. Your unit is the only one left, and you have one boat left to extract our forces and the Russian defectors.
The boat will make several runs to evacuate every one, and it will take time.
At the moment, the leader of the group is in cell phone contact with our commander and with the rebel commander trying to get the best deal.
Our performance so far is getting close to breaking the deal.
Intelligence is light. Naval intelligence seems to think that the enemy is facing much the same problems we have with losses and shifting of forces to the north in Molos.
What we do not know is if the enemy decides to shift forces enough to overrun our positons.
Expect attacks by rebel infantry and by local militia units, as well as lightly armed technicals. We do not know how many, but we do know they will keep hitting us until they, or we are done.
The naval spetsnaz team is currently dealing with rebel attacks on the defectors location. We have 12 friendly wounded which are unable to fight if the enemy decides to overrun our evacuation zone. One four man naval shore security detachment is at the landing site along with a lone beachmaster.
Operational Order: The wounded go first and in two trips. Next, the defectors along with the naval spetsnaz team.
Your squad will be last to go along with the beachmaster and the naval shore security team. How to stall and delay/deal with attacks are your problem. Command says that if negotiations are not concluded in our favor in 90 minutes, you are ordered to eliminate the defectors and evacuate.

5 Sniper rifles available to CNFiL

The CDF/CNF have four sniper rifles, and one varient available to the commanders.

The main sniper rifle is the Cheyenne Tactical M-200 Intervention rifle, a .408 caliber weapon meant for long range shooting by the CNF and CDF special forces.  CheyTac riflemen are often the first CDF/CNF special forces on the scene of an operation. The rifle is so well equipped for long range shooting, CDF/CNF commanders regard the Cheytac sniper as a force multiplier.

The Arma 2 addons CheyTac M-200 Intervention and AK74M pack are used in this demonstration.

The targets are at 160, 350, 500 and 600 meters.  The Cheytac, SVD and the KSVK rifles are all used to engage all four groups.  The last two groups are beyond the range of the AK-74M rifles.

First the Cheytac M-200 Intervention.

Pookie's ships and naval objects

I have to wipe the PC last night and restore from backup in order to regain lost space.  While that worked and I managed to restore most of the Arma 2 OA/Arma 2 installation I can into a problem using  Pookies Naval addon.

A solution had to be found because nearly half of my personal scenarios include seaborne insertions/extractions or resupply.

I found that a file used to make installations between Arma 2 and Arma 2 OA compatible had not been installed.  That file, called extended_eventhandlers.pbo could be found in Wings of Russia - IL-76 addon.  I simply extracted that file and dropped it in the main addon directory.  From that point on, I was able to use Pook's Navy stuff.
